Current Research Interests

  • Cardiac and Pediatric Surgery — exploring modern methods of diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases in adults and children.
  • Development of Innovative Surgical Methods — introducing new technologies and techniques in surgical practice.
  • Medical Staff Training — improving the qualifications of medical professionals, and developing training programs focused on improving practical skills and theoretical knowledge in medicine.
  • Research in Medical Education — enhancing the system of medical education and introducing simulation technologies in the training of specialists.
  • International Cooperation in the field of medicine — developing relationships with foreign medical institutions and exchanging experience to introduce advanced practices in Uzbekistan.

Computational Modeling Methods

  • 3D heart modeling: The use of heart images such as MRI and CT to create detailed 3D models that can reproduce anatomical structures, including heart chambers, coronary vessels, and other elements. These models are used for simulating biophysical processes such as heart mechanics and myocardial electrical activity, helping in preoperative planning and predicting surgical outcomes.
  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD): This method is used to model blood flow in the vascular system. These models help study real-time hemodynamics, simulating blood flow and pressure in the aorta, coronary arteries, or other vessels. This can be useful for assessing the risk of complications or for choosing the best surgical intervention.
  • Blood-tissue interaction modeling: More complex models include simulations of the interaction between moving blood and vessel walls (fluid-structure interaction, FSI). These models allow consideration of vessel deformations during the cardiac cycle and help assess the impact of pathological conditions on the cardiovascular system.

Research Projects (Funding)

  • Government Grants: Various programs exist in Uzbekistan and abroad to support medical research funded by government bodies, such as the Ministry of Health or the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. These programs may support projects aimed at developing new methods of treating cardiovascular diseases and cardiac surgery.
  • International Grants and Collaboration: International funds, such as the European Union (Horizon 2020, Marie Curie), the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO), and others, provide funding for research in the medical field. These grants can support postdoctoral programs and research projects in cardiac surgery and other medical disciplines.
  • Funding from Private Funds and NGOs: Various non-profit organizations and private funds also provide grants for research aimed at improving medical technologies and introducing innovations into medical practice.
